I have just finished my new site. Your forum is really good! It is simply, fast, and easy to fit to site template. - Better than phpBB in this case.

My forum

There aren't many modifications, because in my opinion it looks quite good.

And rel="nofollow" - good idea to implement this tag.

maybe you are right about including the nofollow tag?

so as to prevent spammers posting links for pr credit..

Hristo what do you think?

klucha, nice site you have.
The nofollow tag is already implemented. All posted links use it

Oh... My english isn't perfect
I have written that it is good that you had implemented this.

I thought trc4949 is suggesting it. Maybe I misunderstood it, cause my English is also far from perfect.

Hi Hristo,
I wanted to ask you - if I wanted to simply change the rel="nofollow" to rel="follow" that should be very straight forward and simple, right?

I wanted to change this attribute because I feel like in my case pages need to relate or "speak" to other pages within our site and that Google needs to see those pages, follow the links, and treat them accordingly - whether allowing for popularity flow or not throughout pages.

Is there any reason, besides spammers trying to gain "PR" that you can give for not allowing SE's to follow links from posts you might want to share or give recognition too?

Next time start a separate topic.

As for the rel tag, I prefer to enable it for anything posted by visitors. Linking out to bad neighbourhoods (by forum members) can at least in theory devalue your site/pages. You are telling the search engines, "hey, these links are posted by my visitors, and I am not sure if I want to vote for them".

Also, a lot of people post for links. Enabling link voting encourages participation but dilutes the usefulness of your forum.

Of course, if you moderate well and have a nice community you can enable link voting and even give them voting in their signatures (next version will have optional signatures).

Good points.

Great forum code by the way. I'll start a new thread next time - just saw this one was on topic, so I followed up here.
