I've been using the script of phpbb2. However, I've tried and tried to edit their script to match the rest of my website. It got to the point where I could not spend 500000 hours trying to edit their script. So, I've been doing a search with google on scripts. This all lead me to here. Here are my suggestions:
1. Ability for forum members to earn points when they register and/or post.
2. Ability for members to earn points when they refer their friends.
3. Turn these points in for lottery tickets. Let the system pick one winner each month, week or year.
This feature would be awesome in helping promote our forums.
4. Groups: Phpbb and other forums offer this option. Allow members to create their own group.
5. Finally, allow forum admin. to setup a membership forum(s) and charge a fee(monthly, weekly or by the year); using paypal or a money order.
Thanks,

There will be a ranking system in the next version. However, nothing like lottery tickets. Just user reputatation.
I don't like groups, because they addup sql queries. I am trying to encompass all common usages in the next version without the need of groups. __________________Are you looking for an SEO Consultant?

Hi Hristo,
Giving out points and running a lottery would be a great idea. The groups we could live with out. But the lottery idea would be good. __________________

Razsports - Thats a really specific request. If your site requires it, then just hire a php coder to do a custom hack for you. It should not take more than a few hours and a small fee.
My suggestions for the next version really just follow:
- Private messaging
- User ranking
- Greater use of general small icons (ie: post symbols, and status symbols)
- Word-Friendly title URLs (Or at least the option to do so if possible) I see no real disadvantage.
Other than that, light and fast is the way forwards

whens the next version due?
I also agree with private messages being included. Is there anyway when PM'd the script can send out a notification email to the user's email address to let them know they have a PM?

Private messages + email notifications are on the todo list. __________________Are you looking for an SEO Consultant?

I don't know if this is already on the todo (shoot me if it is), but how about jumping directly to latest post, when clicking the post header?

He's talking about something like at DP forums - http://forums.digitalpoint.com/
Under the last post section, see the little green arrow? If you click on that, you'll jump to the last post on that thread. __________________

A MUST for me - is signatures, avatars, and image uploading ability with posts.
I will wail some time to see whats going to be in next ver.
Maybe someone could help with that image upload - I have seen it nicely done in PUNbb - but i realy like seo board - and would not like to change it

and one more thing - I know that captcha is planned - that is very good, but one more thing is very importand for me - email subscriptions - that would notify users by e-mail - that new posts have been posted - that is very ... marketing related importand thing.
it should be near "Format BBCodes" i thing - and with option to notify by default on - or after checking box.
Anyway. Hristo I made polish translation of current version, are You interested in that contribution?

Well i wrote that email notifications are on the todo list - so it's nice.
Hristo can I do something to speed up that next release? one morre thing - can You put some marks in next lang file - with new words... to translate in lang file.
So only one feature i would request - image uploading ability - that sould not be hard, as there are many scripts You could check how is done:
features could be - to limit number of images user can upload with one post ( exaple 2 or 3)

I have been travelling for the last few months and could not do much work on the script. I should be home in 10 days and restart the work. So, I can't say when the script is gonna be ready.
Send the Polish translation to hristo at seo-board dot com and I will put it online when I get back home. __________________Are you looking for an SEO Consultant?

Hristo, make it easy for people to switch from PHPBB or VBulletin to SEO board. I have a PHPBB site I would like to switch to SEO-Board but I want to keep the DB.

To everyone who wants a PHPBB feature on their Seo-Board... DO IT YOURSELF
If you want image attachment, avatars, lottery tickets blah blah either download PhpBB or Invision, or edit your code about it.
Otherwise this forum software will become just a clone of PHPBB software...

I am not speaking about PHPBB features, I am speaking about the PHPBB Database. It should be easy to convert it. I have 10k posts in one of mine and I don't want to lose it, nor do I want to lose the registered users.

What about multiple language support, enabling users to switch to a different language.

hmm.. if the next version is going to be bloated, why not make a bloat or not option in the admin panel?

My husband would like to know if its possible to add a module of some kind for "paid" classified advertising, something intergrated with PayPal? This is really specific for us and I am not sure anyone else would use it. __________________

plodz1, the big new version is postponed because I cannot work on it right now. I just released a quick 1.1.0RC upgrade (see announcement) with sigs and avatars. __________________Are you looking for an SEO Consultant?

Just as an example I have custom coded the "Jump to last post" icon in the Last Poster column on my homepage... http://www.tutorialdash.com
Originally it just went to the first post in the last thread but by putting anchors for each post you can just jump to the last one... __________________

Python,
if you can gather all mods in a SEO-Board tutorial, people here can find it useful. __________________Are you looking for an SEO Consultant?

Hi Hristo,
Signatures and avatars are working fine I upgraded my website.
I have just one suggestion - thing that is missing a lot in the forum. Notifications by e-mail to the topics users are posting. This is very very important, You want to know why? Becouse these days people are talking on many forums and they forget that there is discussion going on somewhere. and the result is that topics are forgotten
You must have thinked about that plugin - any news it mighr be available?
Best regards

plodz1,
I see this is an important feature, but I don't have time at the moment. I need to finish another project, first. I could then release a newer version with that feature (before the development of the major bloat version), if you and more seo-board admins bug the hell out of me __________________Are you looking for an SEO Consultant?
