Yeah me too! I think everything as been said really, the most important things being private messaging, and email notification; I rate those above everything else

Drupal use a module system so you easy can install and uninstall features instead of having to install/uninstall mods which takes time. PunBB is going to make a module system in their future version 1.3 I would really like to have something like this in SEO-board 2.0!

Ive run a lot of large / busy forums and am looking for something less bloated and less bells and whistles PM's are a VERY popular hidden part of most boards. I agree with an earlier user - having the subject title in the URL structure and perhaps the first x chars in the meta description is a valuable thing. Id vote for CAPTCHA as well for most form functions. Its very simple to add. Email notification / subscribe / unsubscribe from threads as well. Would also like to see some basic attachment functionality and the ability to reply / quote specific users. Main thing I would ask is that any addons be modules - ie they plugin so dont make the site bloated

I would like to see better documentation.. chiefly a list of all the tags available for templates. I agree with the idea of a CAPTCHA however I'm not sure I would implement it the normal way (requiring GD). Maybe do something like the phorum.org forum board. And of course, keep it simple. Sorry 4 the double post, I just realized I posted the wrong board or they got rid of the CAPTCHA. Anyway - the captcha was basically a bunch of dots that made up some characters. Another way would be to make some logic questions. Like "White is to black as:<options>" and the user has to select the correct answer. Of course is someone was really not bright, they would be bared from the forum by default LoL. Also a way to add more user info via the admin panel... then again.. that may start to blought things. __________________ ~ Be kind, please rewind! ~

I would like to see the "code" updated from "tables" to a "table-less" layout with a cleaner (and commented) CSS file. I have come back to SEO-Board because I have found that everyone else is so bloated and hard to customize. I think a jump menu would be nice for sites that would like to utilize "multiple" themes. Here is my wish list: - CSS vs tables - SE friendly URLs ( I know this may not happen, but do wish for it) That is it I agree with b_mcclister, i as well have tried other forums and end of day, this is the best! The only close thing is bbpress which has SE friendly urls, but for forum set ups (and sub-forums), it's a nogo. Thanks __________________ OnlineJamm

I am currently working on a blog script. After that I will rewrite the forum again and release it (I have a rewritten version of the forum that I haven't released, but it will remain in my archives).

I would also like to see a file data base (similar to paFiledb) but sooooo much more better than that.. As others have mentioned, and you say is coming in the next version, I would like a private messaging system. This is by far the most requested functionality by my user base. the next version should be tableless in its core. instead of messy other things. there are some basics missing. how about validator.w3.org check this page there... This bord with this code cant be searchengineoptimized as it is not standard complient. just a hint. look http://www.google.com/search?q=site%3Aforums. ... has only 308 hits...

My suggestions, thank or like feature for each post, polls, private messaging system, and a character limited status message with comments since they huge right now. These 4 features shouldn't bloat the coding too much tho it will make the forum more attractive by giving it some social networking features.

I would like to suggest the following: 1.) Mass delete (delete all posts /topics from a user) as this will help to get rid of spammer posts quickly. There are people who post like 100 new topics with their spam. 2.) Some sort of Captcha for the signup process - the best option is some answer based and not image based solution. For example you can define some questions and the user must answer correctly like "one, two, three ____ or nine minus two is _____ 3.) Make the "Code" BB Code work when selecting text like it is with quote. Right now if you mark your text and click "code" it removes the text and adds the code tags. 4.) More advanced error pages. For example redirecting some "fatal errors" to some actual error page. If you access a topic that doesn't exist anymore you just get a fatal error and it can make people think that your forum is down etc if they come from a search engine and just get a fatal error cause the topic is no longer available. You can lose signups if people find an interesting topic on google but if they access it like http://forums.seo-board.com/article398222-3.htm and just get a fatal error they might just go away... Besides that your software is really great. I modified it a bit myself and added some "bots" to post news to some selected forums which was very easy to do etc. Much better than some commercial products like VB as you can really customize things greatly without needing the backend knowledge or first finding the files you need to edit. You would wonder how time-wasting it can be to add simple things to VB- great job!
