why not large, to huge!   what issues would prevent seo-board from being used on a much larger scale, with say 100's or even thousands of forums!

I've read that the fulltext search is not the most efficient, so I suppose some enterprise level search application would need to be implemeneted instead?

what other issues of scale would need to be addressed?

I've read the opposite - that fulltext search is much faster and resource sparing than conventional searching with LIKE.

I think seo-board can run on large boards without problems. The next version will also run without problems. The only problem I see is the next version consumes more memory, but memory is cheap.

I meant as opposed to search applications written in Java or C++...
but anyway I'm actually kind of new to PHP and MySQL though I've developed an adaptation of SEO-Board that allows regsitered user to create new forums, so hopefully soon I'll have 100's of boards running, and I'll let you know about any issues of scale that I'm bound to run into...

i'm not sure what you mean. can the users create forums in your forum or do they create own instanced of seo-board on your server (something like seo-board-hosting/service)
