I wanted to list my most popular seo-board forum and my newest seo-board forum. The new one is still waiting on some design updates, but it's a great idea that I think could help the whole world and save everyone money on an individual basis.

The motorcycle forum seems to be taking off really well. What kind of promotion methods did you use?

I spent lots of time building link popularity. I also paid www.inb0x.com for some initial members to get the chat going. inb0x is spelled with a zero and not an o.

I spent countless hours correcting posters spelling and grammer and plugging in keywords here and there. I also posted on my forum regularly.

The Buellxb.com forum has been re-skinned. I think it's one of the best skin jobs I've done to date on an SEO-board forum. Having a FREE forum like this from Hristo feels so good it must be a crime.

You are right. The forum is not too bad. Depends on what site you are running though

I just added a really cool 'add your photo' feature to seo-board on Buellxb.com
I'll try to post some of the code soon so that others can add this feature. If you want to see it in action you'll have to register. There's a new link next to 'Search' and 'My Preferences' when your logged in. You can upload images up to 2MB in size and they are auto resized. Then when you make a new post we've added a button for 'Add Your Photo'. More cool seo-board plug-ins to come.

Very nice job with Gas Savers forum.

The simple skin and signatures without garbage links make it stand out for usability... admin and forum users.

Thanks for the complements. Obviously the Buellxb.com forum is the most popular, and thus I spend much more time and money on it with regards to design.

I recently found another GREAT reason to continue using Hristo's SEO-Board forum. The devilish software, XRumer was created to spam forums. It is very complex and effective. phpBB and vBulletin just to name a couple are targeted forum types of this spamware. SEO-Board is off the radar for now. Buell Forum has 1164 members and counting. I've only had ONE spammy post ever.

I have a forum at Tattoofire.com that I created with vBulletin. I worked it up to a Google PR 5 and tried to generate traffic. It's spammed dozens of times daily and it is way more tedious to edit than SEO-board. Did I mention it's not cheap?

BTW... My programmer made it so that my Adsense ads display in the header of every page on Buellxb.com except for the homepage. This greatly reduced my bounce rates as shown by Google Analytics, and thus had a positive affect on my search engine rankings. Check out the Buell forum to see this in action. The increased traffic and rankings have actually increased my Adsense revenue even though I don't have ads front and center on the index/homepage. SWEET!

buellxb,

congrats to your success. Sometimes less-known forums like seo-board have advantages over the better known ones in that they aren't that attractive to spammers.

Are you sure the removal of AdSense on the main page improved the registration of users? That is pretty interesting.

The removal of Adsense on the homepage may or may not have affected registration. I was referring to bounce rates. If a user visits your home page and then leaves the site, then they are a bounce factor. Google tracks this as it relates to keywords/phrases and I have seen it affect SE rankings first hand.

I use to add Adsense to the homepage for a week, then my rankings would drop a few positions. Each time I would remove the ads, my rankings would move up a bit. I did this for roughly two and a half months trying to make good money while keeping strong SE rankings. I noticed my bounce rate going down on Google Analytics and it seems to have a direct affect.

I also reduce my bounce rate by having the image links with motorcycle parts at the top. Once they click they are no longer a bounce factor.
