Hi Hristo,

I know you're very busy, but do you have any idea when a new release or patch supporting Captcha might be available?

Like many others who have posted, I am being beseiged with forum spam. Banning IPs doesn't work, because there are thousands upon thousands of open proxies out there, so spammers just pick a new one a day, or they post through ISPs that don't have fixed IPs. Also, I have to clean up my board manually every morning, and cannot compete with automated scripts that post spam.

I really do believe this little enhancement would greatly boost the number of people using SEO-board over the others--I strongly prefer your software to anything else out there, but this is definitely causing me a lot of pain.

Thanks,
hc

I am in the process of finishing a very long term project and will start rewriting the whole thing. I will probably release sth of worth in a few months. I am not into patching, it is going to be just a clean rewrite.

Thanks--we all appreciate your hard work, Hristo!

Will the new code be backward-compatible with current data (i.e., will there be a seamless migration path from the old code to the new)? That would be #2 on my wish-list, behind more advanced spam tools.

Thanks!

Sure, everything is going to be backwards compatible. But, the code will be mucho different.
