SEO-Board Forum Software Community / General / Support / Login doesn't work

Hi,
I've installed SEO as suggested in the documentation file. I run install and there is a message that SEO has been successfully installed.
However, login doesn't work, the returned message is 'invalid user name/password'. I registered another user and registration went fine but same problem afterwards: login attempt results in 'invalid user/pass'.
I checked the tables and they exist and have the admin user and the 2nd user, so at registring the data is inserted but when login in, the error shows up.
Thank you in advance

I cannot think of a possible reason. Do you use standard english characters for the usernames/passwords? Also, have you changed the shaprefix variable in the options file?

Thank you for quick response.
Yes, only standard english caracters. In the options file I didn't touch the shaprefix variable since I don't really understand what it means. The passwords appear encrypted in the tables though ...

You need to debug some. If you know php/sql, execute a query that basically selects a user. See how index.php logins and perform a manual query. Because that user/pass error means the board tries to select a user from the users table, but mysql does not return a user.
