SEO-Board Forum Software Community / General / Support / private forum and allowing members to post new topics

Hi,

Two things:

I'd like to make my forum for our groups members only and not allow random guests to register.  How would I do that?

Also, the admin can set up the main forum for example General Discussion, but then is it possible to allow the members to post new forum's under that one instead of just replying?

Thanks,
Dana

The board supports private forums for certain members (see the documentation). If you want the forums to be private to all members, you need a few tweaks to the code. You can rename the registration file and take it off the navigation.
To allow users to create new forums would require a lot of tweaks.
What exactly are you trying to accomplish?

I'm looking to have the forums viewable by the public, but only members would be able to log in and post.  Is the answer to that in the documentation?

So if I change the name of the registration file it won't mess anything else up?

Thanks again!!

You just described the default forum as it is. Guests can browse, read etc. but they can't search and post. They need to register.
