so the board almost understands what IPv6, but it could be better. I am posting from 2001:470:833d:100:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx:xxxx, and yet the shown IP for the post translates to 2001:470:833d:1

Has anyone else worked with IPv6, and what were your solutions to minor things like this?

(the x's in the v6 address are masking my real IP)

The post_author_ip field in the mysql database is currently limited to 15 chars. You can increase its length to whatever is needed to support longer ip addresses.
